It’s another quiet week in Scottish tech for both meetups and content, but there are starting to be events posted for later in August and September. I have announced the September EdinburghJS meetup where we will be talking about Security in the age of AI.

One person I’d like to highlight this week is Ying Huai. Ying is a volunteer at EdinburghJS and the creator of StreetJams. StreetJams is a community app that helps people discover and share reusable items left on local streets, making it easier to reduce waste and give useful items a second life. Ying conducted user research, product design and development from concept to launch. The app is now available on both iOS and Android. You can learn more at https://streetjams.app.
