EdinburghJS Meetup

We had a great final set of talks at EdinburghJS last Tuesday. Thanks to TravelPerk for their sponsorship over the last few months! I’m keen to get started working on the first “season” of events for 2025. If you would like to help us out by either providing a venue (we’re in need!) or providing sponsorship for the catering then please do get in touch.

There are lots of events on this week including how to run your own services in Glasgow on Monday, Greentech Edinburgh and Ladies of Code on Tuesday, and inFORM “Building your ecosystem” in Glasgow on Thursday. The week culminates with DevFest Scotland 2024 in Glasgow on Saturday. It’s sold out, but keep an eye out for waitlist tickets.

Coming up in livestreams you can tune in to the Data and AI Meetup on Tuesday.

In the last week Ljupche posted a video on monitoring for microservices, and The Data Lab streamed Data to Visuals: Crafting Impact with Specialised Tools and More Than Pretty Graphs: Tips, Tricks, and Resources to Elevate Your Dataviz, The Braw Tech Podcast dropped a new episode: an interview with Euan Cameron, CEO & Co-Founder of Willo, and Daniel appeared on the PodRocket podcast talking about The Rise of Metaframeworks. Sarah wrote a post on Terraform with Azure Devops CI/CD.

We’re posting more on Bluesky at the moment with event updates, and starter packs for people to follow from the community. If you’ve made a starter pack that you’d like to share, please let us know and we can post it.

There has been some chat in the Community Discord about learning and career switching, so hop on over and join the conversation there if you have any advice to share.

As a heads up, we’ll be running an EdinburghJS December Social on Tues 17th December. It’ll be very informal, and all are welcome. Last year we were joined by the .NET meetup, so even if you are not a JS-dev feel free to pop in for some festive cheer!
